The civil rights movement occurred between approximately 1950 and 1980. Martin Luther King fought for his rights and spoke out to many people. He was inspired by Gandhi. They hated violence and had Christian love. Even though the African American got beaten and were treated horribly they still loved the ones who was doing it to them. Well most of them were like that.
